Makeup Artist in New Orleans
Every booking is led by Seekie personally. For larger parties she brings a team of artists she has trained and directed, working to her standard and her timeline. She does the bride herself, always. Team size is set by your party, your venue, and how early the photographer needs everyone ready to shoot.
Film, TV and Bridal Makeup · Louisiana
Seekie Simon has spent the last seventeen years as a key makeup artist in film and television, running the makeup department on network productions across Louisiana. Queen Sugar. Parish. Cherish the Day. Cloak and Dagger. Seventy-six episodes on one series alone, where every face had to hold up under continuous light, across long days, with no retouching to hide behind. That standard does not change when the camera belongs to a wedding photographer instead of a network. She now takes a limited number of weddings, events, and portrait sessions each season from her studio in Metairie.
Covers, call sheets, carnival courts and brides, in one long spread you read sideways.

Trials, wedding day application, and touch-ups for the bride and her party. Airbrush or traditional, matched to your photographer's lighting and the length of your day. On location at your venue or in the Metairie studio.
I am a New Orleans native. For the last ten years I have been running makeup departments on film and television across Louisiana. Six seasons of Queen Sugar for OWN. Parish for AMC. Department head on Is God Is for Orion.
Set work teaches a particular discipline. A face has to hold through a fourteen hour day and still read correctly under a lighting package built to find every flaw. That standard does not switch off when I leave a set, which is why my work is built for the photograph rather than the mirror.
I still work sets. I also take a limited number of brides, red carpet clients and portrait sessions each season from my studio in Metairie. You can see recent work in the portfolio.
Seekie has been a great makeup mentor, especially with helping me break into the film and television industry. She’s very knowledgeable and dedicated to her craft!
Seekie is literally an icon. Her work is so flawless, so natural and long lasting. Every time I leave her studio I am on cloud 9 because I leave with the exact look I wanted or better. I was even able to browse my daughter to her for her dance recital and it was age appropriate but still gorgeous. She teaches as she applies your make up and she is truly such a kind soul. I don’t trust anyone else with my face.
Professional and quality work!!
Always been a great experience since I ever started seeing Seekie back in 2016/17. Always executing the look for the occasion, be it a photoshoot, a concert, girls night out, work events, etc. A time she wasn't available she was able to recommend someone else and we were still on the same space so it left my day as convenient as could. I showed up really late on a day she was slammed and she was able to still accommodate me without disrupting her schedule. Forever my go to MUA and I can't even say just in Nola bc my girl has hopped on i10 and serviced me in BR for events as well
Seekie is Awesome. Her studio is located in Metairie, LA very conveniently located, and I didn’t have to pay to park which was a bonus. I received a makeup lesson from her which was very extensive and detailed. I learned about color correction on my face, and also what works for my face in different lighting. You truly get what you pay for. I will definitely be booking a makeup appointment soon with her.
Always the best experience, with fun vibes and laughs! I love it here ♥️
Booked Seekie for headshots at her studio in Metairie. I barely wear makeup and was worried it would look like too much, but it looked like me on a really good day. My photographer said it was the easiest session she'd had in a while.
